Progesterone is secreted by the ovaries and reduces symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. It protects against osteoporosis, fibrocystic disease and ovarian cysts. Natural progesterone does not cause the same side effects as synthetic progesterone such as bloating, headaches, fatigue, and weight gain.
