Hair Growth Solutions Prescription Formula
I advertised a prescription hair growth solution that I offer through a pharmacy I work with in Ontario. There is a lot of interest in this hair growth solution considering how common androgenic alopecia is. Given the fact that 50 % of men will experience the condition by the time they are 50 years old and with the number of women who also experience androgenic alopecia, it wasn't a surprise to me; thankfully, there is a solution. There are a number of diagnoses related to hair loss, some require treatment from a dermatologist, and/or endocrinologist, while others are simply the result of the aging process or our genetic makeup. If your condition requires follow-up from a dermatologist I can make that referral, I also work closely with a dermatology clinic that offers Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for hair growth treatment. The hair growth solution I offer can be used with PRP; many patients have reported increased hair thickness and regrowth with both treatment options. The prescription is a spray and contains the following ingredients:
Estradiol - estrogen is very important in the hair growth cycle. Estrogen keeps your hair in the anagen stage; therefore, the hair remains longer on your head, and it helps the hair to grow faster. Women on oral estrogen replacement often notice their hair becomes thicker. Estradiol is not in the men’s hair growth solution.
Melatonin - the hair follicle has melatonin receptors, studies have shown that when applied topically, melatonin increases the thickness of the hair, increases the rate it grows, and also helps keep the hair in the anagen stage (stays on the head longer).
Spironolactone - the hair follicle has androgen receptors, too many androgens cause hair thinning or androgenic alopecia (female or male pattern baldness). When applied topically, spironolactone blocks androgens/testosterone, therefore it helps in hair growth.
Finasteride - this medication promotes scalp hair growth and prevents hair from falling out. The way it works is that it prevents testosterone from turning into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is responsible for hair loss in both men and women.
Minoxidil/Rogaine - Minoxidil helps regrow hair and slows future hair loss in hair thinning and androgenic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness). How it works is thought to be due to its vasodilating effects (widens the blood vessels), the hair follicle then receives more oxygen-rich blood. It also thickens the hair follicle so the hair may also thicken.
Stay tuned as I look into whether Green Tea really helps in hair loss, and if there truly is such thing as oral sunscreen.
